Product Description:
Sourced in Paris from a charming brocante, this large ceramic planter is a striking example of early to mid-20th century French faience. It features the vibrant “Old Strasbourg” floral pattern — known in France as “Reverbere Fin” — with elegantly curved handles and a soft oval shape that makes it perfect for display on a window sill or console.
What makes this piece especially captivating is the beautiful floral decoration: one side is adorned with roses, the other with tulips, offering a different expression depending on how you choose to display it.
Produced by the renowned manufacturer K.G. Luneville, a name long celebrated in the world of French pottery, this piece likely dates from the 1930s to 1950s. The maker’s backstamp used here is a recognised mark of the factory’s mid-century output, before its eventual closure later in the 20th century.
Inside the bowl are a few tiny specks from the firing process — a natural occurrence in older ceramics that reflects the traditional techniques used at the time. The overall impression is one of outstanding preservation: the floral decoration remains bright and the interior clean, suggesting the piece has never been used.
This is a rare opportunity to own a generously sized and authentically French vintage piece, full of charm and history, ideal for those who appreciate timeless design with a touch of countryside elegance.
