Rare Pair of Staffordshire Dogs with Puppies – Handpainted, Vintage Design
1 in stock
Product Description:
This rare and charming pair of Staffordshire Dogs with puppies is a delightful example of traditional British ceramics, perfect for adding a touch of character and warmth to any interior. Featuring a heartwarming scene of a puppy leaning against its parent, these handpainted figures capture the essence of timeless design. Although their exact age is uncertain, their vintage craftsmanship suggests they could reflect styles from an earlier period, possibly late Victorian or Edwardian.
Each dog is uniquely detailed with slight variations in facial expressions and glaze, showcasing the hand-finished nature of these pieces. Resting on a green base, reminiscent of a grassy field, the dogs' white bodies with black patches evoke the classic Staffordshire style. Their lying-down pose, with bellies on the ground, adds a unique twist to the usual Staffordshire dog design.
With their impressive size (20cm wide, 16cm tall, and 12cm deep), these dogs are a striking addition to any vintage or eclectic home decor. One dog shows light crazing and a small, barely noticeable area of paint fade, enhancing its vintage appeal. Whether used as a decorative statement or a nostalgic keepsake, this pair will bring charm to any space.
