A beautifully coordinated set of three vintage teacups and saucers, bringing together English Spode “Marlborough Sprays” cups and French KG Lunéville “Réverbère Fin” saucers.

Although made by different potteries, the pieces complement one another wonderfully. Their delicate garden flowers, softly scalloped shapes and raspberry-pink rims create a harmonious set with plenty of character.

The Spode cups feature colourful transfer-printed floral decoration, while the KG Lunéville saucers are individually hand-decorated. Each saucer has its own arrangement of flowers and subtle variations in the brushwork, making every pairing slightly different.

The generous size of the cups makes them equally well suited to tea, cappuccino or café au lait. As each hand-coloured saucer features a different arrangement of flowers, you can choose a floral pairing to suit your mood. Use all three when entertaining, or keep two in regular use with the third ready for a guest or as a useful spare.

The cups carry the “Spode England 2/6770 Marlborough Sprays” backstamp and are believed to date from around the 1970s. The KG Lunéville saucers bear an earlier crowned backstamp associated with pieces made from approximately 1880 to 1922. This thoughtfully coordinated set therefore brings together English and French tableware from two different periods.

The three teacups and three saucers are sold together as one six-piece set.

Condition

All six pieces are in very good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. Subtle variations in the floral decoration and pink edging reflect the individually decorated character of the saucers.
