Product Description:
Elevate your table setting with this exquisite Masons Ironstone jug featuring the iconic 'IANTHE' pattern, originally devised as a wallpaper border in c.1902 by French artist René Beauclair. The 'IANTHE' design was first printed for Liberty London in 1967 as part of the decade’s revival of ornate Art Nouveau styles. Reimagined for the ‘swinging London’ market by the Haward Studio, a family textile firm, it quickly became an icon of the era.
Crafted using Masons Ironstone, this jug showcases the timeless beauty of the 'IANTHE' pattern. Originally a hit with Liberty’s Carnaby Street clientele, the 'IANTHE' design adorned furnishing and dress fabrics before joining the Tana Classics collection in 1986.
Despite a minor chip at the bottom corner, as shown in the last photo, this vintage jug remains a coveted collector's item, with a discount applied to reflect its condition.
