Product Description

A beautiful pair of mid-century Staffordshire cats by William Kent, finished in a striking orange patchwork palette. Their poised, elegant posture and gentle expressions bring a charming presence, while the fine, intentional crazing in the glaze enhances their depth and warmth.

Each sits proudly on a soft green cushion with hand-painted tassel details, a classic feature. The underside carries the Staffordshire Ware Kent Made in England backstamp with the Staffordshire Knot, confirming their origin.

Established in 1894, William Kent became known for high-quality reproductions of traditional Staffordshire figures, producing in England until the company closed in the early 1960s. Their moulds later passed to smaller makers, which is why unmarked similar versions can sometimes be found, but the workmanship and hallmarking on this pair make them wonderful original Kent pieces.

Ideal for adding a touch of English vintage charm to a mantel, bookcase or dresser. Their warm colours and calm expressions make them an especially lovely choice for cosy interiors and collectors of traditional Staffordshire animals.

A smaller companion pair in the same colourway is also available separately in our store, perfect if you enjoy creating layered mantel or shelf displays.
